We’ve teamed up with financial capability organisation FinCap, to connect customers to Financial Mentors, via a dedicated phone line where they can access tailored support. Financial Mentors help by providing budgeting support or even negotiating with creditors if debt has spiralled out of control.
We have also set up dedicated phone and email lines for Financial Mentors, so they can talk to our team to help their clients get on top of their finances.
Westpac’s Extra Care Programme Lead Tania Reed says “We’re all trying to achieve the same thing, which is to make sure our customers facing vulnerable circumstances get the extra help and support they need.”
FinCap Policy Advisor Jake Lilley says this is a great model that he hopes other businesses will follow.
“This is a fantastic initiative to make sure the Financial Mentors’ expertise paves a pathway forward for people feeling overwhelmed with financial difficulties,” he said.
